Oh no! My thoughts are with the injured and their families.

This is a sad day. An event heavily attended by members of my community

I have work at the event and had visited earlier in the evening. It was very well organized and attended. It's a shame that some jerks have to ruin something good.

Sad. How does a fight break out at an event like this?

"The Roebling Market parking lot was covered in trash, broken glass and liquor bottles as police processed the scene for evidence, according to the Trentonian." ~ Reuters

All nighters and liquor are not a very good mix. Not a regular art show.

People must have brought their own liquor all I saw was wine and beer. I was there earlier and did not see the trash. I would think most event as it gets later in the night would have more trash. I would not hold that against them. Not sure how you could prevent the liquor to be snug in as it was an inside-outside event. They had volunteers sitting at every entrance and walk the event when I was there. What I did not see was police. To me, that is mind-boggling since this event attracts over 15 000 visitors. Would like to know how much police the city of Trenton had at this event.

it will probably be closed because of the subject, but 20 were wounded 1 dead, a few people were doing it.

i can't imagine what kind of crowd would to this at an art thing.

The warehouse is in a poor section of Trenton.

Usually an event that lasts all night is viewed as a party! That's what many of these folks were probably doing. Staying up all night, getting plastered, and getting into a fight in the morning. Like I said... this doesn't sound like a regular art event More like a local fair event that was open 24/7. The wrong folks wandered in...

I agree Glenn it had more of a community fair feel to it.

This is what I said in Iris Richardson's discussion titled Dangerous to be an Artist and I think it bears repeating.

I can only repeat what I always say whenever another shooting event happens and BTW it's nice to say "please support an artist", but if we really are serious about "doing something" about all of this gun violence then send MONEY/support to the anti-gun violence organization of your choice.

The only thing that can stop a pro gun lobbyist with big money (NRA/gun industry) is an anti gun violence lobbyist with bigger money.

Beyond Clockwork Orange

Well Bill... we're not supposed to get into political discussions of that kind on the general threads. Some of us have a totally different opinion of how to approach the subject, where to send money of support, and where the real problems really are. If Abbie wants that line of thought to be discussed, we can have a good old fashion FAA Brawl out of the past! Seems to me she just laid down some pretty strict guidelines about that.

It was simply a drunken brawl broke out and got out of hand. Those shouldn't happen at art festivals.

Only warning, if you can't keep political passion out of the discussion it will be shut down. We've heard once from both sides, leave it be. Nobody is going to change anybody's mind in this particular discussion. Go out and fight for your cause where it matters but don't do it here pulease.

"Nobody is going to change anybody's mind in this particular discussion".

I absolutely agree Susan. I learned that lesson after the Newtown massacre of little school children.

That's why I don't waste time trying to change anyone's mind thru debate.

I just give my opinion on how people, who really want to, can help change the mess we're in.

Give money(power) to the groups who can.
