For almost sixty years, Dan Whedon's discerning eye tirelessly framed the world through the lens of a camera. His meticulous aesthetic sensibility was inseparable from the quiet wit and insatiable curiosity that snapped the shutter on tens of thousands of frames across the Americas, Europe, Russia, and most especially in his native California.
Perhaps because his photography is better understood as how he considered the world than how he sought to make a living from it, in life Whedon only half-heartedly sought to share his pieces with the public. But now his family has agreed to this first-ever digital release of his work, encompassing beautiful land- and cityscapes in both color and black & white.
In the coming weeks, months and years we will be cataloging tens of thousands of Whedon's photos and making them available for print here on FineArtAmerica.com.
