Paula M. Marsh is a artist living and working in Rockford IL., who enjoys painting in watercolor, acrylic and oils. Paula studied at Rock Valley College, where she established and refined her own visual conceptual style, focusing on texture and the rich value scale that graphite could offer.
After a decade of producing careful, refined drawings, in 1993 she pursued a new direction and experimented in watercolor..
Mostly a self taught practicing artist, she often paints nature up close and personal. Whether it is watercolor, acrylics or oils, she finds which medium would best couple with the subject matter.
She has received store and gallery representation, as well as outdoor juried Art Fairs, and does commissioned work in all three mediums.
Paula is a long standing member of the prospering Rockford Art Guild, a local artist group dedicated to educate and exhibit all art forms to support local artisans. She also directed and managed the 'Rockford Art Fair,' an outdoor art show sponsored through the Guild.
Recent group exhibition include the popular 'Art Scene' held annually in Rockford. Her art can be seen displayed in a robust coffee house and often in group exhibitions in and around the region.
She enjoys painting for the non-profit health organization 'Alzheimer Association'. The event is held once a year in her community where 50 artists come together and paint. The paintings are auctioned off for the organization.
Her favorite well known artists: Georgia O'Keeffe, Andrew Wyeth, and Edward Hopper.
