I was born in China. Ever since I was a young child, I have loved to make art. When I was in kindergarten, my drawing was selected for the Children’s Art Exhibition in the City Youth Palace. After finishing high school, I naturally chose to enter the Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in graphic design. I then worked in design until I left China for Europe in the early 1990s.
I started figurative painting in Sweden, influenced by the Yunnan style from China. I painted in vibrant colors using oil, watercolor, and gouache. In 1997, I held my first solo exhibition. It was a success.
After immigrating to the United States, I continued to paint, participating in the group exhibitions and held solo exhibitions as well. In 2014, I became drawn to intricate drawings in black and white. Since then, I have created a series of pen and ink pieces inspired by the daily lives of women and beauty of nature. My goal is to capture a form and posture that expresses the woman’s emotions, while surrounding her with objects to achieve an atmosphere of peace, harmony, and balance. Each piece of artwork is intricately planned and created with delicate strokes of a pen.
I derive pleasure from the process of creating art and hope to share some of that pleasure with you all.
