Ernestine Grindal is the creation of Sally Clarke in memory of her late mother, whose real name it was, and whose spirit has been a driving force in her art and never wanted to saddle a child with such a name as Ernestine! 'Let's just give her a 'regular name' like Sally or Sara!'
