Whether it's writing, directing, reviving Art Deco, or colorizing Silver Screen Stars, my jobs have always been on the creative side. Even now that I'm in my 90s, and with over a 1,500 images from which to choose, I still look forward to the next decade and reaching 100 and more.

Chuck Staley was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and spent his youth growing up in funeral homes in small towns scattered across the South. Following high school he studied art at the Memphis Academy of Arts and engineering at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
After a stint in the Army Signal Corps in Europe, Staley went to work in television broadcasting, first in Memphis and then in Hollywood, directing thousands of hours of music videos, commercials and TV programs of all sorts, including six years with CBS News at Television City, during which he wrote 'Murder on the Six O'Clock News,' making sure to follow his own rule as a teacher of writing at LA City College, 'Write about what you know.'

Chuck, who grew up in funeral homes, also wrote Southern Planter, a coming-of-age screenplay/story about a teen who... guess what? Grew up in funeral homes.

Both may be found at Amazon.
