The castles can include sandcastle - with some turrets or conventional stone or brick built castles in any state of repair

A Castle must be the main focus of your image, not a distant shape on far horizon

Definitions of what makes a castle -

Oxford Dictionary: a large building, typically of the medieval period, fortified against attack with thick walls, battlements, towers, and in many cases a moat.
Cambridge Dictionary ; a large strong building, built in the past by a ruler or important person to protect the people inside from attack
Collins Dictionary: A castle is a large building with thick, high walls. Castles were built by important people, such as kings, in former times, especially for protection during wars and battles. The citadel and strongest part of the fortifications of a medieval town. A fortified building or set of buildings, usually permanently garrisoned, as in medieval Europe
