Snow and ice storms are hardly uncommon in a New England winter, but usually after an ice storm it gets warm enough for the ice to melt before we get more snow. This winter has been different. We had an ice storm last week and it's stayed cold, so when it snowed on Christmas Day there was still plenty of ice on the tree and shrub branches.
This cluster of snow of the leaves of our PJM rhododendron, with lots of ice as well, really caught my eye. The background was distracting so after using Topaz Impression to get a painterly look, I added a couple of textures from Jai Johnson's winter collections and one from French Kiss Textures.
