When my grand nephew was born, I asked my nephew if there was a theme for the baby's room. He told me the theme is, "The Little Prince." Like most of us, I knew the book but had not looked at in years. So I chose four quotes from the book and painted four paintings to adorn his room. This is one of them.
I also changed the color of his hair. You always see the Little Prince as a blonde, but my nephew and his wife both have dark hair, so I have painted the boy, in my series with brown hair. I want children to feel more aligned with the character and there are a lot more brown haired children than blondes on the planet.
The quote speaks to the heart and the painting speaks to the joy of being together, sharing the night sky and friendship between an animal and a human... and then there is the rose... that will be addressed in the last in the series.
"It is only with the heart, that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye."
I hope you enjoy this painting, it makes a lovely poster, canvas, blanket and pillow for a child's room. I also think it makes a great card for anyone.
