This photograph was taken at the Cloisters museum in New York City. The Cloisters, at the northern tip of Manhattan, is affiliated with the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The buildings which form the Cloisters were medieval structures from various parts of Europe which were brought in pieces and reassembled here to form the museum complex.

I grew up in that place. Whenever possible I would walk up from 37 Vermilyea Av and sit there ages 12 - 17. My second home. Great memories.

Thanks, James! Great experience for a future artist. I live walking distance from there now, only I'm somewhat disabled, so these days it's a short bus ride up Fort Washington. My four kids practically grew up at the Cloisters. I love the place, but came to it as an adult, having grown up on the Amazon.
