Description
"Side Slip" gives us a view of the Rufous hummingbird that is quite unique. As my camera began it's high-speed firing sequence, this beauty twisted away, applying full flaps (the fully spread tail feathers), and full thrust with the extended wings nearly frozen in motion by my strobes.
It is a stunning image at 20"x30" where all the iridescent neck feather detail is large enough for the viewer to marvel at. That's the size I'm displaying it in my home gallery and it never fails to delight my friends and visitors.
