Description
I did this image from a photo I took (also in my Images folder) of a beautiful pink and yellow rose. I made this image for a postcard competition - all postcards to be 4x6 in size, so my full drawing was 12 x 8, which was then cut into quarters to submit to the competition. I scanned the full image before cutting it up. I worked with watercolor pencil and watercolor crayon on the rose itself, and used watercolor pencil to block in stems and leaves. I then washed the stems/leaves area with watercolor crayon colors, blending and blurring with a brush and paper burnisher into an abstract background.
