This is an adolescent Siberian Lynx approximately 7 to 8 months old. The Siberian lynx is also called an East Siberian lynx is possibly a subspecies of the Eurasian lynx. They inhabit alpine tundra and some rocky areas above the mountain tree lines in Asia, Europe, and Russia. They are the largest of the Lynx family with males weighing as much as 90 pounds. The fur is gray, with tints from yellow to red. Their fur can be spotted in the summer and the spots fading in the winter. They have a facial ruff and long black ear tufts, and long hind legs with a short black tipped tail. Their large, wide-spreading feet are covered in fur, which act like snowshoes.
