This is a really awesome view and vantage point of the majestic Paoluse Falls. It is one of my favorite falls and one of Washington's best kept secrets. Congratulations on your second place finish.

This just flat out blows my mind Inge. We used to live in Joseph Oregon (Wallowa County) and went for a day drive one time. We ended up on whatever highway goes up that way, and happened to see a sign for the falls. Neither of us had ever heard of it, and couldn't imagine how a waterfall of all things could be out in that country. It's beautiful, and we love it, but not necessarily a place that folks would be expecting. We took the sign that told us to go east something like 20 miles, then followed another sign that put us on a gravel road. It wasn't long before we began to hear a roaring sound, and thought 'What in the heck is that?' Well by golly, we found out. We were almost speechless when we got to it. I got a few shots of it that I like okay, but yours should win every prize ever. Thank you for sharing this beauty.

One of the best I've seen of these Falls. Now I have to go back there (from Florida) and try again!! A beautiful image. Thanks for sharing it.
Inge Johnsson replied:
Thanks so much, Farol. I was living in Seattle for nine years and only made it out here some time before I moved back to Dallas. Fantastic place, along with the entire Palouse area.

This is a great shot! I love this waterfall. Currently, this waterfall is the largest drop successfully run in a kayak.
Inge Johnsson replied:
Thanks Matt. I really like it too, and think it is a bit under appreciated. I didn't know that someone had gone over it in a kayak, seems iffy to say the least :-O
