Description
This view on New Brighton's Marine Promenade looks over to Bootle Docks with its many cranes for loading cargo ships,in the foreground are the famous new Brighton rocks that are along the sea wall rather than near the light house of perch Rock. I used to climb over these as a child as well as making sand castles with my bucket and spade and paddling along the tide. I have happy memories of New Brighton with its numerous fairgrounds and amusement arcades, candy floss and doughnuts you couldn't drag me away from the place. I even visited a few of the night clubs and the tower ballrooms in my teenage years...it was a great place then and it is now after the recent regeneration of the resort, it's a favourite place to go to with the kids when visiting Liverpool, there are plenty of buses and trains nearby. It was a lovely sunny day when this photo was taken in May as I took a stroll along the Promenade. I love this high rise wide angled view through the railings looking over to Bootle docks and wind farms beyond
