Description
Gruene, TX was first started when Ernst Gruene, a German immigrant, moved into the area to grow cotton. Mr. Gruene could not afford the real estate prices in New Braunfels, so he went down the river and settled what is now known as Gruene, TX. After years of success, Ernst Gruene added a dance hall to his settlement and this dance hall became the center of social activities in his settlement, drawing visitors from out of town. Today, Gruene Hall is the oldest Dance Hall in Texas and when you visit Texas, you should make a point to go have a beer at this establishment.

David, I saw that Kenny favorited so many of your photos, so I had to come over and see your stuff! I have wanted to go to this place for years! Gruene Hall, what a delight to see a picture of it! I did all the button pushing to promote this one... VFW...voted, favorited, watchlisted, and now the google plus! Great lighteing on this, and the way you got the spot lights centered in the middle of the name... great composition! Oh yeah!
David Morefield replied:
You'll love Gruene, it has a lot of little shops and some great food as well. At the end of the day, you can dance and have a cold beer. It's a great place to hang out.
