Description
High about the valley floor, the Grinnell Glacier trail hugs the side of the mountain. Like so many hikes in Glacier National Park, there are amazing and breath taking views around every corner. This shot was taken in fall while being chased back to camp by a storm. Any time of the year the weather can change in an instant. Being autumn, the weather gets more dramatic and you never know what is going to happen. Closer to Grinnell Glacier, this storm has strong wind gusts with snow making photographing difficult. This particular part of the trail was sheltered and allowed for some great photo opportunities.
I offer a variety of landscape, nature and wildlife images and fine art digital paintings. I also have many agricultural, farming and countryside images as well. Most of my work is from around the Pacific Northwest, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, British Columbia, and Alberta. Please look through my galleries or visit my website to view my full portfolio.
All of my work is original and copyrighted. The watermarks will not be on your final print. Thank you for looking and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Absolutely breathtaking! I love the contrast the impending storm gives to the photograph.

Another beauty here Mark....you should make a book from all your National Park photos. So very impressive:)
Mark Kiver replied:
Thanks Jo. Maybe some day. A book would be a fun project. Right now I would just love to sell a few images of the parks to maybe fund something like that :). Thanks again for looking.
