Golden Thistle II
These thistles are a subject that for some reason draws me in. In the spring time they have a light purple flower that dies as the temperatures rise and by late fall the green outer leaves and the purple flower take on a nice golden glow. Much like the grasses and many other plants in arid California.
This version has been muted out and the leaves have been darkened through digital process that I worked through. I did this to highlight the fine brush like center of the thistle.
