Description
The Fountain of the Four Winds- was created by Enrique Alvarez in 1938 as part of the Art Deco design of the Shushan Airport, now known as the New Orleans Lakefront Airport. It was the first combined land and seaplane terminal in the world. The fountain is magnificent art and is currently being restored. In this image the west wind is seen cradling an owl. She is the only figure with an animal, although there are falcons on the perimeter.
