Description
Living on the Gulf of Mexico means not only being close to natural beauty but being prepared for nature's brutal side. Most homes are built high on posts to withstand the storm surges that accompany hurricanes. This unusual castle home, built in 1981, is near Irish Bayou, east of New Orleans. You gotta love the imagination of the builder. I figure he must have a great sense of humor and I can't resist thinking of the classic scene from Monty Python's The Holy Grail.

Beautiful BW, Steve. Interesting architecture of the castle. So stark against the organic background. Great contrast in textures. lf
