Description
El Paso train station in Texas is a historic building dating back to 1905 and designed by architect Daniel Burnham, who also designed the train station in Washington DC. It was known as the Arizona and South Eastern Railroad from 1888 to 1902 and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places of the United States. It is said that the bell tower was used by Pancho Villa as a lookout point for attacks on Ciudad Juarez during the Mexican revolution - that is about 2 miles (3 kilometers) from the church. The beauty of the architecture and the bright light on it inspired me to create a digital painting from the photo I took in the golden hours of the afternoon in the month of January.
