The cloisters of historic European cathedrals are always pleasant and peaceful places to spend some time/ The cloister of the Cathedral of Tarragona (Spain) is no different and on a sunny January morning was nearly deserted. The Cathedral of Tarragona is a Roman Catholic Church located in a site previously occupied by a Roman temple dating to the time of Tiberius, a Visigothic cathedral, and a Moorish Mosque. The current cathedral dates from the earth 12th century and architecturally represents a transitional style between Romanesque and Gothic. The construction of cloister probably began around 1194. It was declared a national monument in 1905.
