Your photo has such fine textures. The cub's face shows clearly against the shadowed side of the tree trunk, too.

Fabulous B&W photograph of a wild Black Bear cub, with great light and shadows, perspective, and composition, Debby! F/L

Karen, it is bit frightening at first to see one, but actually, Black bears are MORE frightened of you, unless they are ill or feel threatened. A few years during the drought, there were so many bears that came down from the high altitudes to eat because of all of the forest fires. Some were ill, and had to be put down due to their extreme hunger and thirst. But many would follow the rangers around like puppies when they would feed hay to the horses. There were some prisoners on work furlough with the rangers (ones who were getting out soon), and they flipped out when that happened. Bears are STILL wild. And they will do great bodily harm, but if they feel no fear, they are OK...but you still have to be on guard! Thank you for the comments and the LF.

Thank you Johanna. I like the color, but unfortunately, many of the photos have a green hue to them....even the photos in the literature. So for this one, I tried the BW. I am glad you like it. Thank you for the LFP
