Description
This is taken from the Murphy River Walk along the Valley River which runs through the town of Murphy, North Carolina, and empties into the Hiwassee River. The rock ledge in the river is called the Great Leech. It is actually a vein of red and white marble sometimes visible in the water.

Great photo John! I like how the diagonal riffles in the rocks lead my eye to the left shoreline and into the bend in the river.

Beautiful image. I love how the water seems to transition from very calm and glassy to moving and rough.

Very interesting narrative, John, and that ledge makes a great leading line in this well composed shot! L/F
